Brazil, Kayapò culture, second half of the century. XX, cotton, feathers and vegetable fibres. Head ornament made of cotton, quills and feathers. The cotton backing is made up of numerous intertwined cords. The feathers are arranged in a single row to grow in height from the ends towards the center. It is fixed to a support made of buritì palm fibers using special laces. Used by high-ranking male people on ritual occasions.
